Boerewors championship runner-up from NW 'will be back'─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 15:11 Mon, 06 Oct 2014
Rustenburg - Although a manager of a butchery in Rustenburg in North West was not crowned South Africa’s boerewors king, he will definitely be back next time with an improved recipe.
Forty-one-year-old Tlokes Nkomo, who was the runner-up in this year’s Shoprite Checkers Championship Boerewors grand finale held at Sun city over the weekend, says although he came in second he feels like a real winner.
Nkomo manages a local Shoprite Checkers butchery and entered the competition for the second time because he wanted to make a difference.
Koos van Dyk, from Polokwane with his tenth entry won this year’s boerewors champion title and drove away with a brand new Toyota Hilux. Home executive, Chantél Gouws, from Vereeniging in Gauteng took third place.
