Bloemfontein - Joint medical research, conducted by the Free State department of health and the University of the Free State, have had many positive outcomes.
UFS School of Medicine head, Alan Gibson, believes that the university and the department can work symbiotically as a team.
Gibson referred to research initiated by the department of health in 2011 to improve the child mortality rate, which brought significant changes. He says the department can feel very proud.
Gibson says that a lot of problems the province are facing are similar around the world.
