TAC members march to Bloem Magistrate's court─── SABRINA DEAN 08:14 Thu, 29 Jan 2015
Bloemfontein - About 500 Treatment Action Campaign members and community health care workers are expected to march from Batho Community Hall to the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court this morning.
This as the 129 health workers arrested last year are scheduled to make their third appearance on charges relating to the gatherings Act. TAC General Secretary Anele Yawa says the accused will also join the march.
Yawa says members not appearing will remain outside the court to picket.
The 129 suspects were arrested after holding a night vigil outside Free State Health headquarters at Bophelo House in Bloemfontein last year.
Yawa says they were arrested because they had not obtained permission in terms of the Gatherings Act and not for any unruly behaviour or damage to property.
