Porsche workers to get an extra 8 600 Euro in profit sharing─── 14:12 Wed, 25 Mar 2015
Stuttgart - Workers at the German carmaker Porsche are to receive a special one-off payment of 8,600 euros (9,436 dollars) for 2014, the company said Wednesday.
Seven hundred euros of the profit-sharing bonus will be paid into each worker's pension pot, the company said.
The workers were informed of the bonus at a special meeting Wednesday.
Of the worldwide workforce of 22,400, a total of 14,600 workers are to receive the payment, which is a result of higher-than-expected profits generated by the luxury car manufacturer, a subsidiary of Volkswagen.
Profits at Porsche last year outstripped those for the parent company, increasing 20 per cent from 2013. Porsche delivered 190,000 cars to customers last year.
