Don’t buy roadside reptiles – NSPCA─── DANE BEISHEIM 16:09 Fri, 31 Jul 2015
Rustenburg - If you should see hawkers next to the road selling chameleons and other little reptiles, do not stop to buy them, even if your intentions are good.
This is according to the NSPCA’s Wildlife Protection Unit Manager Ainsley Hay. Her comment follows after an NSPCA investigator confiscated the umpteenth chameleon from an illegal roadside seller near Sun City whilst travelling back from inspecting a Game Auction in Thabazimbi today.
Hay says while this is a national problem, the NSPCA has noted a particular problem in the Sun City area.
