Duminy pulled up with pain while bowling in during training.

He went for scan which revealed he sustained a grade one side muscle strain, which will see him side lined for up to 10 days.

This puts a lot of pressure on the Proteas with seamer Vernon Philander already ruled for the match with a hamstring strain.

Meanwhile, top order batsman Faf du Plessis says they side is still confident, however warned that they Windies can’t be taken for granted despite losing 4-1 to South Africa in the recent ODI series at home.

In the inspirational letter Crowe said he still backed the Proteas to win the world cup and offered De Villiers great words of advice on firing up his team, who in all fairness haven’t been firing on all cylinders.

Speaking to the press this morning in Sydney, De Villers said he read the letter and will take the good from it.

The Crowe letter can be read on the Extra Time blog.

The Windies camp in turn believe that they can beat the South Africans tomorrow and won’t be dwelling on the past performances against the Proteas.

Despite being shocked by Ireland in their opening game the Carribeans have bounced back and convincingly beaten bother Pakistan and Zimbabwe.

Furthermore, the team has score more than 300 runs in all their game at the tournament thus far.

Captain Jason Holder agrees with Faf du Plessis that he’s boys cannot be underestimated.
