South Africa’s Kevin Anderson has dropped two places in the latest ATP World Ranking released today.

The big serving South African drops from 15th to 17th losing to Japan’s Kei Nishikori in three sets in the semi-finals of the Mexican Open in Acapulco.

He’s second round exit in his home town event in Delray Beach, Florida also lead to his drop.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Nishikori in his turn has shot to fourth in the rankings despite losing to Spain’s David Ferrer in the final in Acapulco in straight sets.

He now equals Kimiko Date-Krumm as the highest ranked Japanese singles player of all time after she reached the position on the WTA tour in 1994.
