Pakistan has now made it two in a row at the Cricket World Cup after comprehensively beating the United Arab Emirates by 129 runs in Napier this morning.

Pakistan who haven’t been firing on all cylinders of late scored 339 for six in their allotted 50 overs.
 
Ahmed Shezad top scored with 93 runs, Haris Sohail added 70 to the score and captain Misbah-ul-Haq scored 65 of 49 deliveries.
 
Manjula Guruge was the pick of the UAE bowlers with four wickets for 56 runs.
 
While the 1992 Champions bowlers couldn’t bowl the Hawks of Quarish out, they restricted the minnows to 210 for eight in their 50 overs.
 
After beating Zimbabwe over the weekend and today’s win they’ve climbed to fourth in Group B on four points.
 
Pakistani coach and reverse swing legend Waqar Younis was left happy with the result, and feel his side will have a lot of confidence for their next match against South Africa.
 
Younis said now his side need to claim a big scalp at the tournament.
 
In Perth, Australia broke the record for the highest innings score in World Cup history when they posted 417 for 8 against Afghanistan to beat the minnows by 275 runs.
 
Opening batsman David Warner went at better than a run-a-ball with his 178 runs, in a knock which included 19 four and 5 sixes.
 
The impressive Steve Smith added 95 to the scoreboard, while the batting freak, Glenn Maxwell scored a blistering 88 runs off 39 deliveries.
 
The Afghani opening batsman Javed Ahmadi and Usman Ghani lasted for 30 runs before the first wicket fell, and as they say in the classics, 'the rest is history’.
 
Mitchell Johnson took four for 22 as Afghanistan were bundled out for 142 runs.
 
Following the match Warner said it was good to get among the runs.
 
Meanwhile, Nelson Scotland are ready to take on Bangladesh tomorrow at the Saxton Oval.
 
The Scots, who were the top qualifiers for the competition, are still looking for their first ever win at a World Cup.
 
They cam close last week in Dunedin, however fell short by one wicket against Afghanistan.
 
South African-born captain, Preston Momsen the pressure will be on Bangladesh more so than on themselves.
 
Tomorrow morning’s match starts at midnight.
