World champions India and the spirited Irish are locked in a Group B battle at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

While India are expected to with the match, the Irish accepted the challenge with a lot of confidence.
 
With three wins in four matches at the tournament the men from the Emerald Isles are still well on their way to a first ever quarter-finals berth.
 
This morning the Irish won the toss and elected to bat first against India and were cruising to very respectable score on after being on 206 for three after 37.5 overs.
 
A flurry of wickets hurt the associate team and they were eventually bundled out for 259 runs.
 
Niall O’Brian top scored for the minnows with 75 runs, while captain William Porterfield added 67 runs to the score.
 
Before the match, Porterfield said whatever they do in the match, they’ll have to do it well.
 
World record holder for the most runs in an One-Day International innings, Rohit Sharma of India said their they will have to be on top of their game if they are to beat the in-form Irish.
 
Playing more of an all-rounder role in the tournament thus far instead of playing as a outright batsman, Sharma said his role in the team is to maintain the pressure.
 
Ireland currently lies fourth in Group B, while the unbeaten Indians are still on top.
 
After 10 overs the champions were on 73 without loss.
 
Meanwhile, in Tasmania the Scottish face another tough challenge tomorrow as they are still hunting for their first ever win.
 
Tomorrow Scots face Sri Lanka in Hobart and still dream of winning at least won game at the tournament.
 
While the Sri Lankans haven’t had the greatest of tournaments by their high standards, they have already qualified for the knockout round and with the pressure off they can prove to be devastating.
 
Scotland has identified seamer Lasith Malinga and form batsman Kumar Sangakarra as the 1996 champions real danger-men.
 
South African-born Scottish captain, Preston Mommsen said they have to be as attacking as possible against the side from the subcontinent.
Tomorrow mornings’ match at the Bellerive Oval gets underway at 5:30.
 
On Thursday South Africa face the UAE in their last group match at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington.
