Mad runners breeze through Bloem─── 08:41 Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Yesterday morning saw twelve runners shoot through Bloemfontein en route from Johannesburg to Cape Town in a 24 hour non-stop relay run.
Remarkably this group of runners representing Mad 2 Run is running all the way to the Mother City with the goal of doing so in a week in order to raise awareness for the MAD Charity.
The group with support staff departed from Johannesburg on Friday morning and hit the City of Roses early on Sunday towards Colesburg.
Each runner completes a 10 km stint before swapping over continuously in 8 hours shifts.
Ryan Lancefield told OFM Sport that the night shifts are rather challenging, however he was looking forward to the stretch heading into Colesburg.
Mad 2 Run will hit Cape Town on Friday evening and all twelve will run in the Two Oceans on Saturday.
