Tractor sales bounce back slightly in June─── SABRINA DEAN 17:20 Tue, 07 Jul 2015
Bloemfontein - Although the was a marginal increase in tractor sales in June, compared to the same time last year, the year-on-year decrease of 8% is a clear symptom of the impact of the midsummer drought.
Chairperson of the SA Agricultural Machinery Association, Wynn Dedwith, says the tractor market was buoyant in June, with 449 units sold compared to 438 units in June 2014:

Dedwith says the biggest shock is the harvester sales, with only 16 combine harvesters sold last month, representing a drop of 40% year-on-year. He says this paints a good picture of what is going on at ground level, with indications pointing towards below average harvest in the summer crop regions.
