Harrismith - Eastern Free State police are hopeful the arrest of four people found with carcasses of suspected stolen sheep might shed some light on other stock theft cases in the vicinity of Intabazwe near Harrismith.
Police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says two women were arrested on Wednesday after police followed-up on a tip-off and caught them with carcasses of suspected stolen sheep. He says two men, both Lesotho nationals, were arrested later that day after police stopped a vehicle they were on the lookout for and found carcasses inside:

He says police recovered a total of nine carcasses and one dead sheep.
Mophiring has meanwhile urged farmers not to hire shepherds who do not have legal documents:
