Early election results for Sol Plaatje─── 05:23 Thu, 08 May 2014
Kimberley - Early election results were gradually trickling into the Electoral Commission of SA's (IEC) National Results Operations Centre in Pretoria on Thursday morning.
In the Sol Plaatje municipality in the Northern Cape, with 6262 votes counted from the national ballot at 3.36am, the Democratic Alliance had received 2783 votes, the African National Congress 2729 and the Economic Freedom Fighters 277.

In the provincial ballot, the DA had received 2710 votes, the ANC 2573 and the EFF 242, out of 5961 votes counted.
The municipality had 127,162 voters registered.
In the 2009 election, the ANC won 62.58 percent of the vote nationally and 61.92 percent provincially, followed by the DA with 16.73 percent nationally and 16.33 percent provincially.
Cope ran the DA a close third, garnering 14.46 percent nationally and 15.43 percent provincially.
