Kimberley - State advocate Hannes Cloete has begun delivering closing arguments during sentencing proceedings in the Griekwastad triple murder trial underway in the Northern Cape High Court in Kimberley.
A 17-year-old boy was earlier this year found guilty of the murders of Deon, Christel and Marthella Steenkamp on their farm Naauwhoek in April 2012.
The minor was also convicted of one count of rape and defeating the ends of justice.
Cloete said no sentence could ever make up for what happened there, adding that if the boy is sentenced to 25 years he will be around 40 when he is released and needs to be reintegrated back into society.

Bode says the minor has shown no signs of aggression since April 2012, despite access to firearms and high levels of stress. He is of the opinion the rehabilitation process has already begun.
