Bloemfontein - The main opposition in the Free State is calling on provincial government to adopt a "Free State First" policy to address massive unemployment.
The DA's Roy Jankielsohn made the call on the back of the release of the Stats SA Quarterly Labour Force Survey, which indicates the Free State has retained the highest unemployment rate in South Africa after this grew to 35%.
He says provincial Government needs to play its role in assisting companies to become successful and profitable so that more jobs can be created.
Jankielsohn says the current provincial economic outlook is concerning.
