Bloemfontein - Underfunding and improper budget planning are two of the reasons the FS Health Department is facing a crisis.
This is according to Health MEC, Benny Malakoane, addressing the media in Bloemfontein this morning with regards to his department’s ‘financial turnaround strategy’.
Malakoane says the increase in the department’s budget is below inflation and is not enough to cover their health system demands.
Malakoane added that the department's strategy will include having funds re-allocated to departments that require them the most.
