Bloemfontein Centre given the all clear after bomb threat─── 12:09 Thu, 31 Jul 2014
Bloemfontein - Police have cleared a Bloemfontein center after a bomb threat on Thursday morning.
The Southern Center in Fichardtpark was evacuated after receiving numerous phone calls by an anonymous source, claiming a bomb would detonate at 11:00.
About 200 people within the center were evacuated at approximately 10:10, police spokesperson Chaka Morope said.
He confirmed the bomb squad, fire brigade and K9 dog-unit were on scene.
An eyewitness on the scene, and employee within the center, said there were about 50 police officials on scene.
Shoppers have returned to the center and everything is back to normal, general manager of the center John Doe said.
