Bloemfontein -The DA believes that Eskom is waging a terrorist campaign which could affect the Free State economy.
The party’s Roy Jankielsohn says many residents do pay their electricity bills and it is therefor unfair of Eskom to threaten them with a blackout.
Eskom recently issued a notice of an electricity disconnection on August 8 for Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality in QwaQwa, Dihlabeng Municipality in Bethlehem and Ngwathe Municipality in Parys.
Jankielsohn says they are deeply concerned.
Ngwathe owes Eskom R216 million. Maluti-a-Phofung, R228 million and Dihlabeng, R58 million.
