Kimberley - An investment of more than R800 million will go into building the first phase of the Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley.
This was announced by the minister of higher education Blade Nzimande, at the inauguration of the university’s first full council in the Diamond City on Tuesday.
Nzimande says he’s impressed and excited by the work done by the interim council he appointed last year.
Nzimande this morning appointed a 24 member permanent council, which includes three judges.
