Wilbur Smith's novel available in Afrikaans again | News Article

Bloemfontein - To celebrate fifty years since Wilbur Smith's first novel, When the Lion Feeds, was published Adamastor, an imprint of NB Publishers, recently announced that Smith fans can from next month read this iconic South African story in Afrikaans again.

Witwatersrand as it is known in Afrikaans was originally banned in South Africa on grounds of obscenity.

According to publisher James Woodhouse, this novel needs another outing in Afrikaans.

Woodhouse says he would love to publish When the Lion Feeds in Zulu too because one of the main characters in the book is Zulu.
