North West Provincial Coordinating Council probes municipalities' readiness to submit statements─── DANE BEISHEIM 08:39 Sat, 23 Aug 2014
Dane Beisheim Mahikeng - The North West Provincial Coordinating Council has welcomed efforts made by municipalities in the Province in preparing their annual financial statements.
These statements have to be submitted by the end of the month.
A special meeting was held at Mahikeng yesterday to ascertain the local and district municipalities’ readiness for submission.
The Coordinating Council, however, expressed its concern regarding some municipalities’ ongoing reliance on consultants for preparation of their annual financial statements, and the non-participation of Ngaka Modiri Molema District in this assessment exercise.
The meeting was attended by Executive Mayors and Mayors, Municipal Managers, MECs, Heads of Departments and the Chief Financial Officers.
