SCA order shows nobody is above the law: Zille─── 13:12 Thu, 28 Aug 2014
Bloemfontein - Today’s Supreme Court of Appeal order regarding the controversial spy tapes shows that nobody, not even the President of the country, is above the law.
This is according to DA leader Helen Zille, who attended proceedings in Bloemfontein this morning.
The DA has been battling in the courts for more than five years to gain access to the tapes of recordings between the then Director of Public Prosecutions and the head of the Scorpions.
Zille says the recordings were cited as the major reason for the withdrawal of more than 700 counts of corruption, fraud and money laundering against President Jacob Zuma in 2009.
She says if the recordings did indeed show there was a political plot to charge Zuma, as has been claimed, the President's camp would surely have been quick to release the tapes.

She says the DA will now proceed with a review of the decision to withdraw the charges and will take the matter as far as it needs to go.
