Mangaung Metro withdraws no confidence motion against manager | News Article

Bloemfontein - A motion of no confidence, which was served at a special Mangaung Metro council meeting earlier this month, has been withdrawn.

The motion was brought by certain ANC members against city manager, Sibongile Mazibuko.

She was expected to be given an opportunity to provide feedback on various projects that are currently running, today.
It however wasn't necessary as the motion was withdrawn at today's meeting. Mazibuko's position was allegedly threatened earlier this month.

Media reports surfaced that some ANC officials have a problem with her work performance. They apparently wanted to suspend her.

The ANC-controlled municipality was reportedly dissatisfied with the Hoffman Square renewal project, the development project at the Bram Fischer International Airport and also with a toilet project in Botshabelo.

A small group of people in ANC regalia were today picketing outside the Bram Fischer Building where the council met.

They demanded Mazibuko's head.
