Kuruman situation out of my hands: Motshekga─── OWEN KOCK 12:46 Fri, 29 Aug 2014
Kuruman - The minister of basic education, Angie Motshekga, says the fact that no schooling has taken place for more than two months in parts of the Northern Cape, is out of her hands.
She visited the John Taolo Gaetsewe District this week for an in loco inspection of the situation. Motshekga said she appealed to Premier Sylvia Lucas to help resolve the matter, as her department cannot do anything about the road the community wants tarred.
As part of their protest the community burned an administration building of a school in the village of Ditshipeng, and threatened principals and teachers, warning them not to re-open schools.

Thousands of children will most probably have to repeat their school year.
