Three suspects on the loose after Bloemfontein ATM bombing | News Article

Bloemfontein - Free State police have launched an extensive manhunt for three armed suspects who blasted open an ATM machine at a food outlet in Navalsig in Bloemfontein early this morning.

Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says the suspects wearing balaclavas allegedly first entered a local shop and held two night shift workers at gunpoint.

They locked them in the kitchen after which they proceeded to a nearby petrol station.

According to Marope no injuries were reported.

Police are investigating cases of business robbery and malicious damage to property in terms of the Explosives Act 26 of 1957.

Marope says it is too early to determine if an ATM bombing syndicate is involved.
