FS racism report almost completed | News Article

Bloemfontein - An investigation by a special task team appointed by the Free State Department of Education into allegations of racism by two headmasters and a teacher from three separate schools in the province is in its final stage.

Chairperson of the task team, Thabiso Motsoeneng, says the final report about the investigation against the principal of Dr Viljoen Combined School in Bloemfontein, Francois Schoon, Christiaan de Wet's, Charles Liversage, and a teacher at St Helena Primary School in Welkom, Trudy Erasmus, is expected to be available next week.

Meanwhile education MEC, Tate Makgoe, told OFM News today that the department is taking a firm stance against racism by teachers in schools.

The finalization of the department’s report follows a decision by the department last month to uplift the suspension against the educators.

The department however reiterated that it will continue with its internal investigation into allegations of racism by the educators.
