Kuruman - Teachers affected by the disruption of schools over the last three months in the Joe Morolong Municipality, has been redeployed to schools in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District.
This was confirmed to OFM News this afternoon by the Northern Cape education department’s spokesperson Sydney Stander, saying the department has been paying the affected teachers without them delivering any services.
Schooling stopped more than three months ago when members of the community started with violent protests over a section of road they want tarred.
Meanwhile, it is still unclear when construction of the road will begin after two contractors were appointed.

Spokesperson for the Joe Morolong Road Forum, Kagisho Gaborokwe, today said the forum will liaise with the minister of transport, Dipuo Peters’ office later this week to obtain clarity as to when construction will commence.
