Chinese man behind bars for Ladybrand hit-and-run─── OWEN KOCK 12:02 Wed, 17 Sep 2014
Ladybrand - A Fouriesburg man, Kai Chan, appeared in the Ladybrand Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a charge of culpable homicide.
This, after a hit-and-run accident which claimed the life of 16-year-old Kefuoe Mphuti on Sunday.
Chan will lodge a formal bail application next Tuesday.
According to Free State police spokesperson Martin Xuma, police was alerted to an abandoned vehicle by members of the community and upon inspection, they found it to be damaged and suspected that it could be linked to the accident.
Chan handed himself over to the police.
