Ficksburg - The dismantled narcotics bureau in the Free State will be reinstated as drug related crimes show an increase in statistics released last week.
MEC for police, Butana Komphela, says police are not trained well enough, to correctly identify illegal drugs.
He was addressing the media in Ficksburg where the province's performance was discussed, following Friday’s release of the national crime statistics.
The province recorded 32.9% more drug related offences compared to the 26.1% in the previous financial year.
