Klerksdorp bank robbery: Ten suspects to appear again today─── DANE BEISHEIM 07:42 Tue, 30 Sep 2014
Klerksdorp - Ten suspects will appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court this morning following their arrest on September 18 for an attempted bank robbery.
Police officials received a tip-off about the planned bank robbery. Two AK 47 rifles and three magazines were recovered. No cash was stolen during the incident.
During their first appearance last week the case was postponed to today so that all the suspects, who cannot be named until they have pleaded, can obtain legal representation. They are expected to file a formal bail application today.
As a security precaution the men are being kept at three different police holding cells, in Stilfontein, Hartbeesfontein and Jouberton respectively.
The state's prosecutor Riekie Crouse intends to oppose bail.
