Bloemfontein - Free State Health MEC Benny Malakoane says heath care financing is the crux of the matter.
He says without adequate and proper health care financing the department is unable to deliver any of their services.
Malakoane was speaking at the end of a two-day Health Indaba held in Bloemfontein.
He says the health budget should not be less than 33 percent of the total provincial budget. The R8 billion his department received for this financial year is only 29 percent.
Malakoane says that a four percent increase will assist in improving health services.
Malakoane says funding is needed if the department wants to get out of its current dire position.
