OFM: Pledge "not to text and drive"─── SABRINA DEAN 07:46 Wed, 01 Oct 2014
Bloemfontein - We all know that drinking and driving is a no-no as it places not only your life at risk, but also endangers the lives of innocent bystanders.
Why then do so many of us ignore the dangers of another driving distraction that can be just as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol?
OFM General Manager Nick Efstathiou says texting while driving can have lethal consequences and it is for this reason that the station has launched its “Driving while inTEXTicated” campaign.
Listeners can show their support by visiting http://www.ofm.co.za/ to make a pledge “not to text and drive”.
As the holidays draw nearer and traffic volumes increase, listeners can also report any accidents or other issues via the OFM traffic hotline number, 082 237 9497.
Passengers or drivers who have pulled over can send a text to 36OFM, that is 36636 at R1.50/sms or tweet all traffic related information to @OFM9497 #traffic.
