Vereeniging - Four people have died and four were injured when a car collided with a transporter vehicle on the R59 near Vereeniging.
According to ER24's Werner Vermaak, three people died on the scene and two of the critically injured were airlifted. Maroela Media reports one person died later in hospital.
Vermaak says when paramedics arrived on the scene yesterday they found people and debris scattered across the highway.
Both vehicles were found several meters apart from each other with the BMW almost burnt out completely. Bystanders apparently pulled the BMW driver from the wreck before it caught fire. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
