Bloemfontein - Justice crime prevention and security cluster chairperson Mamiki Qabathe says they are making progress in ensuring that the Free State retains its traditional status as the crime free capital of the country.
She says whilst police are doing their best to ensure there is peace and stability, the cluster has realised the responsibility cannot be left to them alone.
Qabathe was speaking at the Justice Crime Prevention and Security cluster media briefing in Bloemfontein yesterday.
The justice crime prevention and security cluster is compiled of representatives of the departments of social development, agriculture, education, economic affairs, tourism and environmental affairs, police, roads and transport together with the South African Police Services, National Prosecuting Authority, Correctional Services, State Security, Home Affairs and some provincial churches.
