Odendaalsrus - Police say they will leave no stone unturned as they attempt to track down five suspects in connection with the murder of a 75-year-old farmer in the Odendaalsrus area last night.

Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng confirmed that the elderly farmer died on route to the hospital following the attack just after 8pm.
The name of the farmer is known to OFM News but is being withheld to protect the identity of other family members assaulted during the attack.

Thakeng says the suspects fled with the farmer’s Isuzu bakkie last night and this was later found abandoned near Thabong in Welkom
He says police are investigating several cases, including murder. He says the Hawks are also involved in the manhunt, adding the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
