Rustenburg - The Rustenburg Municipality has been operating without the services of a civil engineer for the last six years.
This is, according to local DA Councillor Gys Smit, one of the reasons why certain residents have been without water since early October.
Smit adds that the problem, experienced year on year, isn’t that there is not enough water but rather the bad condition of the old infrastructure which leads to pipes bursting due to high water pressure.
The monthly loss of water is around 21%.
