Bloemfontein - A boy has been missing since yesterday afternoon after he was swept away by a stream in the Bloemspruit canal following heavy rains yesterday.
Mangaung Metro spokesperson Qondile Khedama told OFM News that the incident happened in Bloemside. He said this was after the canal overflowed following a cloud burst in Bloemfontein yesterday.
Emergency Medical Services were forced to call off the search for the boy late yesterday because the current was too strong for them to continue safely.
Khedama says the search will resume this morning.
