Operation Vala launched to all correctional centres─── OWEN KOCK 08:06 Fri, 28 Nov 2014
Bloemfontein - The acting National Commissioner of Correctional Services, Zach Modise, today launched Operation Vala, via satellite link from Gauteng to all correctional centres in the country.
The campaign will run for 50 days until January 13, and its purpose is to focus on the department’s efforts to ensure the safety of inmates, staff, service providers, other departments and the public.
Speaking at the launch at the Grootvlei Correctional Centre, Free State and Northern Cape Regional Commissioner, Subashini Moodley, said Operation Vala started in 2006, and has yielded the necessary results.
