Bloemfontein - The Free State Department of Education is currently rounding off the marking processes at the 16 marking centres where the examination scripts of over 26 000 registered candidates were marked. The process started on December 6.
Spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says marking officially ended yesterday. He confirms only four alleged minor cases were reported this year in regard to examination irregularities.
According to him the strain on the marking process due to load shedding was minimized by using generators, gas lamps and candles.

The department salutes all the markers and teachers who insured the smooth-running of the process. Some markers have already returned home whilst internal moderators and chief markers are still writing reports and adding the last finishing touches.
Candidates can collect their individual results from their schools on January 6 next year.
