Man to appear for allegedly torching Qwa Qwa Radio─── 07:57 Thu, 18 Dec 2014
Qwa Qwa - The man accused of torching local radio station, Qwa Qwa Radio, as well as several shops in the Mandela Park Shopping Centre will appear in the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate's Court today.
Ten stores in the shopping centre, which housed Qwa Qwa Radio, were also destroyed.
The clerk of the court told OFM News the suspect is seeking legal representation and remains in custody.
According to eye witnesses the suspect entered the community station on Sunday and after an altercation with the security guard, dosed the station with petrol and set it alight.
It’s alleged the man was settling a grudge after allegedly being insulted on air in 2010.
Nobody was seriously injured in the blaze.
