Teazers murder trial expected to start | News Article

Johannesburg - The trial of Cypriot national George Louca was expected to start on Monday in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court sitting as the Johannesburg High Court.

Louca, who had been moved to a place of safety and appeared via a video feed last time for his own security, is accused of killing Teazers strip club boss Lolly Jackson.

The murder case was set down until March 6.

Previous proceedings have been translated into Greek for Louca.

Last year his lawyer said that a possession of stolen property case against Louca from 2007 was still hanging over Louca.

Jackson was shot dead at a house on the East Rand on May 3, 2010 and at the time it was reported that he called then Gauteng intelligence boss Joey Mabasa and said he had done it.

City Press and EWN reported on Sunday that according to an affidavit it was privy to, Czech fugitive and businessman Radovan Krejcir, already on trial on another murder case, was the triggerman.

It reported that forensic consultant Paul O'Sullivan said that according to Louca, Jackson was shot after a "verbal and then physical dispute concerning money laundering".
