Department of labour gives FS Health 60 days to comply─── 12:53 Wed, 04 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - The department of labour in the Free State has given the Free State department of health 60 days to comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
This follows after the labour department issued 80 notices of non-compliance at clinics and mortuaries in the province.
Provincial chief inspector Nomfundo Douw-Jack says her department's blitz inspections at 95 centres, found that only 15 have no problems.
Douw-Jack says that now that the notices are issued, her department will make follow-up inspections to see if the problems were addressed. She says if the employer is still in contravention, further steps will be taken.
