UFS acknowledges receipt of Muller and Blom's letter of demand | News Article

Bloemfontein - The University of the Free State has acknowledged receipt of a letter of demand served by the legal team of Cobus Muller and Charl Blom.

The two former students claim compensation of R1 million from Rector Jonathan Jansen and the university. They want the money by March 20.

Kovsies spokesperson Lacea Loader says Jansen and the senior leadership of the university have been in discussion with their legal representatives, who advised that the matter not be discussed in public at this time.

Muller and Blom were accused and acquitted of attempted murder last year by the court and the SA Human Rights Commission.

According to AfriForum’s Henk Maree, the two friends were suspended and never given the opportunity to state their case. They were labelled as criminals in public and were barred from campus without procedure or trail.

Muller and Blom are claiming R500 000 compensation each, and they want the money by March 20.
