Bloemfontein - Seven Nigerian men, a South African man and five alleged prostitutes were arrested yesterday when police raided a house allegedly operating as a brothel in Navalsig in Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson, Chaka Marope, says the men have been charged with operating an illegal brothel while the women, aged between 22 and 28, face charges of prostitution.
He says a 35-year-old man among those arrested was allegedly acting as the middleman and rented rooms to those involved. A baby was also found in the house.
Marope says all 14 people suspects are expected to appear in the local Magistrate's Court soon.
Another alleged brothel, which was operating as a guesthouse, was uncovered by police in Fleurdal, Bloemfontein, at the weekend.
