Two shot dead, officers wounded in attempted ATM bombing in Odendaalsrus─── THANDI XABA 09:45 Sun, 29 Mar 2015
Odendaalsrus - Two men were killed and two police officers wounded during a shoot-out after an attempted ATM bombing in Odendaalsrus in the Free State.
Police spokesperson Molebogeng Lechesa says police received a tip-off on Saturday morning. On arrival, five suspects in a Silver Volvo getaway car started shooting at the officers with R5 rifles.
The three remaining suspects are still on the run. Police recovered the vehicle with a false Gauteng registration plates.
Investigations are underway.
