No decision on new Student Dean at UFS─── DANE BEISHEIM 15:33 Tue, 31 Mar 2015
Bloemfontein - The University of the Free State has yet to find a replacement for its former Student Dean, Rudi Buys.
This was confirmed to OFM News by the University’s Lacea Loader.
In an e-mail response to an inquiry Loader confirmed that a decision has not been made yet, adding that Cornelia Faasen would be standing in as the acting Dean until such time.
Buys came under fire last year in particular from civil rights group AfriForum, regarding his handling of the so-called renewal of the J.B.M. Hertzog residence. Former residents of the men's hostel expressed their dissatisfaction with a proposed name change of the residence as well as the removal of hostel memorabilia.
