The Free State department of small business development, tourism and environmental affairs says they hope that the more than 1 000 official guests during China Week will boost the province up the list of popular tourist destinations in South Africa.
MEC Mosebenzi Zwane says the Free State occupies the fifth place currently and hopes to move higher up.
The China Week programme that started yesterday and runs until next week Monday will allow delegates to travel to some of the most popular tourist attractions in the province.
Zwane says he hopes some of the members of the delegation would also return for holiday.
