Potchefstroom - No incidents of looting of foreign owned shops by local communities in North West have been reported since Saturday.

This comes after about 25 community members between the ages of 15 and 25 were arrested in Kanana near Klerksdorp on Friday. They allegedly forcefully entered a shop owned by a foreign national and stole groceries.

Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, says in addition another 25 community members were arrested on Friday for public violence in Kuma while 13 people were arrested in Vryburg. Incidents of public violence continued until Saturday in Vryburg.

Mokgwabone says three incidents were reported, but no arrested were made. He says police are constantly monitoring the situation.

Mokgwabone says all suspects are expected to appear respectively in their local Magistrate's Courts today or tomorrow on charges of public violence.
