NW teachers' salaries to hopefully be paid soon: Department─── DANE BEISHEIM 08:10 Wed, 22 Apr 2015
Potchefstroom - The North West Department of Education and Sport Development says it is hopeful that all temporary teachers in the province will receive their salaries soon.
A total of 217 non-appointed teachers were not paid their salaries last month. Sixty-five teachers are from Ngaka Modiri Molema district, 35 from Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and 115 are from Bojanala District.
According to provincial Education Department spokesperson Elias Malindi a meeting was held between management and members of the South African Democratic Teachers Union in North West.
Malindi says payments were not made because teachers failed to submit their particulars necessary for the processing of payments.
