45 injured in Fouriesburg accident─── 10:57 Thu, 23 Apr 2015
Fouriesburg - A collision occurred on an apple farm in Fouriesburg in the Free State earlier today.
Pieter Rossouw, ER24 spokesperson, said the collision involved a ten ton truck. The truck allegedly lost control on a corner and then rolled. The road was allegedly wet and slippery.
The truck was transporting 45 workers, all of whom were injured.
Rossouw said when paramedics arrived on scene they found that the injuries of the patients ranged from minor to moderate and no fatal or serious injuries were sustained.
ER24 paramedics treated and transported a total of 17 patients to Mediclinic Bethlehem as well as Fouriesburg Clinic for further treatment.
The remaining patients were treated by other services. The cause of the incident remains unknown.
